Is it allergies or a cold?

Allergies don't cause a fever, often cause itchy eyes, and can last for weeks while you're exposed to pollen, dust, or pets. Colds usually come with body aches or a low fever and clear up within about a week to 10 days.

How are allergies treated?

Abby may recommend over-the-counter options or prescribe nasal sprays, allergy medicines, or eye drops. She can also suggest ways to limit your exposure, and refer you to an allergist for testing if needed.

When should I be seen in person?

See a provider in person if symptoms don't improve with treatment, you have wheezing or asthma flare-ups, or you want allergy testing. Call 911 for trouble breathing, wheezing that won't stop, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, or feeling faint after an exposure. These can be signs of a severe allergic reaction.

How much does an allergy visit cost?

$100, paid by credit card when you book. Any prescription is filled at your pharmacy and paid separately. After your visit, you'll receive a receipt you can submit to your HSA or FSA for reimbursement.
